The irresistible destination wedding shows no sign of losing its popularity, and the Oakland House’s coastal charms are again available for brides and grooms who wish to be wed by the side of the sea.  We have a long tradition hosting a variety of nuptials, simple ceremonies under the oak groves of Cathedral Field to ambitious traditional affairs under tents on the great lawn.  Cocktails in the Barnacle barn, lobster bakes by the shore, newlywed brunch celebrations in the inn dining room.

Almost from the very beginning of its July 4, 1889, opening, the Oakland House guests have enjoyed their lobster dinners on their laps, right there on the Reach beach, as the sun dips into the ocean. 

We offer those traditional lobster dinners, and will also cater private affairs on request for small groups and families. Many guests come to Maine for their lobster and we offer the most authentic Maine experience possible.
